Karen Turner, CEO of Turner Efficiency has shared another great tip on how to make yourself and your team more efficient using technology. Check this out.
Returning calls can be difficult to remember. Make it easier by having the caller do the remembering.
In other words, when you receive a phone call during a meeting, send a text to redirect the caller’s actions so you recall.
For instance, change “I’ll call you later” to “Please call back in 1 hour.” This puts the responsibility to remember on them and avoids you forgetting to call when you leave the meeting.
“What’s up?” is an opening for a full texting session – probably not appropriate during a meeting. Instead, request an email. Then you can’t forget.
Likewise, create a custom message to encourage the caller to connect with another colleague who can perhaps respond. It doubles the time savings: You don’t have to call them back, and they get an immediate answer.
Consider revamping “I’m on my way” to “Will be there within 15 min.” This gives the recipient a clearer time frame to decide whether to proceed, do something else, or wait for you. Yes, it’s a little more restrictive for you, but imagine that you were receiving that text. Wouldn’t you want to know when?
